Haiku: Apocalypse

It has recently been reported that after four years of drought, particularly in the
highlands of Ethiopia, the level of water in the Nile is alarmingly low and that
the river, which is the life blood of an entire country, may dry up altogether.

No rain, no river;
not a bang but a whimper;
no corn in Egypt.
